I have a score of a piano piece by Stockhausen framed and hanging on my wall at home, it's a thing of great and arresting visual beauty.
I don't know if anyone paints scores as canvases, but there are scores which are made from pictures. And composers have used graphic notation for a long time - the "Storm" movement of Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony features sequences that look on the page like jagged daggers of lightning.

I do find these very lovely to look at. If I were a musician, I think I would paint such things onto canvas.
